Administrative history: A course in the study of foods was offered within the Department of Home Economics from 1915. Food Sciences became a separate department in the Faculty of Agriculture in 1967.

Custodial history: The Food Sciences Department of the Faculty of Agriculture transferred records to the University of Manitoba Archives in 1993.

Scope and content: The series consists of research proposals, projects, reports, and results. Both colour and black and white photographs and a slide are located in PC 17.
