Custodial history: The series was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by the Office of the President in 1983.

Scope and content: The records of the Associate Vice-President (Research) contain files for two committees, the Institute and Interdisciplinary Research Groups Committee and the Northern Studies Committee. The records for these committees cover the period 1965 to 1984.
