Ukrainian-Canadian Pamphlets

A unique collection in the Slavic Collection devoted to Ukrainian Canadiana, is the Ukrainian-Canadian Pamphlet Collection, which spans the years 1900 to the 1970s. It consists of small size publications from the mainly early local Ukrainian presses such as the Rus’ka knyharnia and Ukrains’ka knyharnia.  The content of these publications include: original or translated plays; instructional information for early immigrants; materials focusing on life in Canada; as well as material pertaining to history, literature, and socio-political issues. The collection encompasses over 300 such publications. Within this collection one will find material written by such well-known local Ukrainian writers as, Iakiv Maidanyk, Oleksander Sushko, Pavlo Krat, and Semen Kovbel’.
