J. W. Crane Memorial Library (Deer Lodge Centre): photo of DLC staff and shelves

The J.W. Crane Memorial Library of Gerontology and Geriatrics is Canada's largest and best-known special library on aging and long-term care. The "Crane" was established in 1962 by Dr. William W. Priddle together with the Ontario Advisory Committee on Geriatric Studies. Dr. Priddle began the library with a seed collection bequeathed to him by the late Dr. J.W. Crane, a former Dean of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario and a Canadian pioneer in geriatric research.
