E.K. Williams Law Library is one of eight unit libraries and ten satellite information centres in the University of Manitoba Library System. The primary goal of the Library is to support the teaching and research mission of the Faculty of Law and to support academic programmes and research of other faculties and departments at the University of Manitoba. The library is also open to alumni of the university and to members of the general public.

WHAT IS LawDoc?
LawDoc is a non-profit, cost-recovery legal research and information service offered by the E.K. Williams Law Library. The Librarians and Staff are committed to serving the information needs of the legal profession, businesses, governments, researchers, and the general public in Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario, across Canada and around the world.
LawDoc enables groups and individuals outside the academic community to have better access to legal materials contained in or accessible through the E.K. Williams Law Library. The Library Staff are knowledgeable and experienced and are ready to help you with your research. At your request, the staff will find the appropriate material to meet your information needs and deliver this material in the format most convenient for you.

WHAT WE CAN PROVIDE?
Reference Assistance and Information Consulting Service
Reference staff are available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday to answer reference questions.
Subject to availability, we will lend regular circulating library materials to users for a 30 day period. Reserve and loose-leaf materials may in most cases be borrowed for 3 days (dependent on time of year and class schedules). Interlibrary loans can be arranged for those items not held in University of Manitoba libraries. In such cases, loan periods are determined by the lending library.
You may arrange to pick up materials, or have them couried or mailed to you.
We will do our utmost to fill your LawDoc requests in a timely fashion. However, our RUSH service (extra cost) will provide you with guarantedd same day service, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:30, provided your request if received before 2:00 p.m.
LawDoc operates on a non-profit, cost recovery basis. This means that we can offer reliable and efficient service at reasonable rates. For current fees see Document Delivery Charges.
