How do I pay my fines/fees online?

* CIBC Debit Card holders will need to use a different card to pay fees, as CIBC does not support Interac Online functionality. A list of institutions supporting Interac Online is here. If you do not have a credit card or participating debit card, prepaid visa cards can be purchased at most drug stores.

Why can’t I pay my fees in person at the Libraries’ service desks anymore?

Paying your fees online means that any library block in your Aurora account is cleared within 15 minutes, allowing you to do what you need to do!  Previously, blocks were cleared manually which meant that you had to wait until the next day to have the block cleared in Aurora.

What happens if something goes wrong with the computer halfway through and I don’t know if I’ve paid?

You can always access your Library Account to see if the fines have been paid.  If you think something went wrong and would like to confirm with Libraries staff, please email libsupp@umanitoba.ca.

What happens if something goes wrong halfway through and I pay twice by accident?

If this happens it will show up in our records and a refund will be issued to you.  We may catch the error before you, but if we don’t please contact libsupp@umanitoba.ca and we’ll help you solve the problem.

What happens if I don’t get a confirmation email?

You can always access your library account to see if the fines have been paid.  If you think something went wrong and would like to confirm with Libraries staff, please email libsupp@umanitoba.ca.

What happens if I find the item and I’ve already paid for it?

You can return the item to any of the libraries and, if returned within a year of the due date, our system will automatically credit your Library account.  You will receive an email confirming the item’s return and the credit to your account.  You will then be contacted by someone from the Libraries who will process your refund to either your credit card or bank account depending on how it was originally paid.

Why does the loan still show in My Account when I paid for the lost item?

The loan will show in your account for one year from the due date in case you find the lost item.  If you find it within that time frame we will refund the amount you paid for the item, minus the processing fee.

Does paying my fines/fees remove the hold on my Aurora account right away?

Once you’ve paid your fines or fees online, the Aurora block should be cancelled within 15 minutes.  Occasionally something goes wrong and if that happens, please contact libsupp@umanitoba.ca and we’ll help you solve the problem.

I’ve paid my fees but I still have a Libraries hold in Aurora.  What do I do?

Paying your fees should cancel the hold in Aurora within 15 minutes.  However, something does occasionally go wrong and if you think it did, please contact libsupp@umanitoba.ca and we’ll help you solve the problem.
