Monitoring and Screening Public Opinion Research in the News

  • Canadian Business and Current Affairs (CBCA) - Daily Update
    • Search Example #1:  polls OR "public opinion" 
      1. Select [Include] "Wire Feeds" or "Newspapers" under Source Type.
      2. Enter a Data Range.
      3. Select "polls & surveys" under Subject.
      4. Further filter by Publication Title (which wire feed?), or Company/Organization
    • Search Example #2: By a particular topic/issue, for example "universal basic income." 
      • Filter the results similarly to Example #1.
    • Search Example #3: Maclean's Magazine articles including the terms, "public opinion" or "polls."
      1. Filter by Magazines under Source Type.
      2. Then by Publication Title
  • Canadian Major Dailies - Daily Update
    • Search and browse a specific newspaper.
  • Search Twitter feeds by a topic or source, and browse
  • Search Google News by a topic/subject and set an alert.
