Administrative history: The Faculty of Education Alumni Association was founded by Education Dean, D.S. Woods in the late-1930s. Its role is to provide a liaison between the Faculty of Education and its alumni, provide support to University of Manitoba Education students, and to promote advancement of education in Manitoba. During the period of 1973 to 1989, its Presidents were P. Kirk (1973-1974), C.V. Thiessen (1974-1975), R.W. Cross (1975-1976), A.W. Krahn (1976-1977), Mildred Bjarnason (1977-1978), W.W. Melnyk (1978-1979), Bob Thompson (1979-1980), Donna Stanbra (1980-1981), Evelyn Anderson (1981-1983), Ed Muzyczka (1983-1985), David Acland (1985-1986), Al Thiessen (1986-1987), Lorne Ferley (1987-1988), and James Balness (1988-1989).

Custodial history: The fonds was donated to University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by the Faculty of Education Alumni Association in three accessions in 1989 and 1990.

Scope and content: The fonds consists of 18 folders. The fonds contains agendas, minutes, and correspondence of the Faculty of Education Alumni Association, as well as financial bursary applications, notices of bursary awards, and address lists of Faculty of Education alumni.
