Sciences and Technology Libraries: Room Booking

The Sciences & Technology Libraries serve the Faculty of Science, the Price Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Agricultural & Food Sciences, and the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, & Resources

Group Study Room Guidelines

  • A valid UMnetID and a University of Manitoba ID card are required to book a room.
  • There must be a minimum of 2 members present at all times to retain your booking.
  • You can book up to 2 hours per day to a maximum of 6 hours per week.
  • After a room has been successfully booked online, you will receive a confirmation email outlining the details of your booking.
  • You will need to swipe your ID card and enter the PIN emailed to you before entering the room.
  • Rooms may also be booked the day-of using each door's pinpad and a valid ID card.
  • Please keep the rooms tidy. Food is not permitted.
  • Extra tables and chairs cannot be brought into the rooms as they pose a safety hazard.
  • Rooms are to be used for University of Manitoba student study and/or group collaboration. Instructional or recreational use is prohibited.
  • If you are unable to attend your scheduled time-slot, please cancel your booking to allow others access to the room.
    To cancel a booking, click on the cancelation link in your confirmation email. 

Sciences and Technology Library

The Sciences and Technology Library has 4 group study rooms that University of Manitoba students can use:

 

Rooms 212B & 213 Machray Hall

Room 223A Machray Hall

Room 360 Machray Hall

  • Desktop PC workstation, including:
    • DVD/VHS player

Donald W. Craik Engineering Library

The Engineering Library has 3 group study rooms that University of Manitoba students can use:

 

Rooms E3-362B & E3-362C Engineering 

Capacity: 2-4 people each

Amenities: 

  • LCD television screen with HDMI cable
  • Whiteboard and supplies

 

Room E3-362D Engineering 

Capacity: 2-10 people

Amenities: 

  • Wired tables
  • Whiteboard and supplies
  • 80" Smart monitor*
  • Desktop PC
  • Media control panel

*Accessories for the monitor can be loaned from the Library Service Desk. The monitor guide is located within the room.

William R. Newman Agriculture Library

The Agriculture Library has 3 group study rooms that University of Manitoba students can use.

 

REGULAR FALL/WINTER HOURS OF OPERATION FOR THE STUDY ROOMS:

  • Monday – Friday, 7:30 am - 10:00 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
  • Closed on holidays
  • Please note: During the evenings and weekends when the library is closed, the Study Hall stays open, accessible through the hall by the entrance found at the end of the library (on the East side). There is a sign to the left of the entrance door that reads: ENTRANCE TO STUDY HALL AFTER HOURS.

 

Rooms 232A, 232B & 232C Agriculture

Capacity: 2-4 people each
