Open publishing is often synonymous with related terms like open access and open science. While these concepts are inter-related, it is important to understand the nuances to make informed choices in the new publishing world. Participants will learn the definitions and concepts regarding open publishing, how open publishing fits within the open scholarship ecosystem (and what that is), global trends that are influencing commercial publishers and scholars alike, and a checklist to guide considerations when planning or about to publish.
