Creating a private group

Groups can be created to share citations and their associated PDFs if any.  There are limitations on the number of groups and members depending on the type of account.

Steps:

  1. in the right hand panel, scroll until you see New Group.
  2. Click New Group.
  3. Type in the name of the group and hit Enter.

Tip: Name this group something that will be unique and understood by all members invited to it.

Add references to the group

Steps:

  1. Check references and associated PDFs of interest to the group.
  2. Click Organize.
  3. Click Add to Group.
  4. Check group(s) to add references to.
  5. Click Add.

Organize the references in the group

Create collections within the group to help organize the references.

Steps:

  1. Click [three vertical dots] next to group name for more actions.
  2. Click New Collection.
  3. Type in the name of the collection.
  4. Click and drag references to collection.

Add members to the group

Add members to the group. 

Steps:

  1. Click [three vertical dots] next to group name for more actions.
  2. Click Manage Group.
  3. Click Invite Members.
  4. In the email address box, add members email addresses on separate lines.
  5. Click Send Invite.

Note: Members must have Mendeley accounts to view the group and it's documents.
