This guide is intended to help UM students, faculty, staff, alumni, and retirees verify and/or request access to their UM Libraries account.

Requesting Library Services in signUM

Instructions

  1. Activate your UMnetID (if you haven't yet).
  2. Sign in to signUM using your UMnetID and password.
  3. From the home tab, click Request Access.  Select Request for Self.

  1. Locate Library on the catalog list.  Click Add to Cart.Screen capture of the catalog list in signUM, with "Add to Cart" circled.
  2. Click Next to continue.
  3. Confirm Library appears in your cart.  Click Submit.

  1. To check the status of your request, go to the home tab and click on My AccessSelect the Roles tab to view your accounts - Library should appear in either the "granted" or "pending" lists.

  1. Sign out of your signUM account.
  2. Sign in to your UM Libraries My Account to verify that it is active.

Account activation usually takes 15 minutes, however it can sometimes take up to an hour. If it is not activated within 24 hours, please create an IT Ticket, or contact:
