Canada's emerging (to be born 2022) national Digital Research Infrastructure (DRI) will aim to consolidate several national organizations currently in existence including ComputeCanada. The purpose of the new organization is to coordinate and fund activities in Advanced Research Computing (ARC), Data Management (DM), and Research Software (RS) to ensure that Canada’s researchers have equitable access to the necessary infrastructure and tools to support research across all disciplines.
These consultations are the next step towards implementation of the DRI Contribution program with approved funding from the federal Minister of Science of up to $375 million.
The new DRI organization has scheduled face to face meetings at the dates & locations provided below. They are seeking wide stakeholder input from the research community (i.e. researchers, librarians, IT, administration etc.). Venue details as well as agendas and supporting materials will be communicated shortly. http://engagedri.ca/index.php/2019/09/17/save-the-date-for-consultations-on-the-data-research-infrastructure-dri-contribution-program/
