We've created an interactive tool for Ask Us staff who are helping faculty and students navigate the path to obtain materials from the collection. While we have tried to simplify the process for our users in the "We'll get it for you" guide, the process is much more involved for us.
Use this tool to begin a request for book or article and navigate the path with your client.
There will be no PHYSICAL reserves available for Fall term, due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Libraries will try to obtain digital course reserves that instructors can use in UM Learn. We can accomplish this in two ways:
Please have faculty and instructors contact their Subject Liaison Librarian, either by email or by scheduling an appointment, to discuss their course reserve needs further.
If clients request items from our collections, and there are no electronic copies available, please refer them to the
"We'll Get It For You!" guide.
If students inquire about peer tutoring or other services from the Academic Learning Centre you can provide the following information.
The ALC will continue to provide academic supports during the COVID-19 pandemic. All Academic Learning Centre supports will be provided online until further notice, including individual tutoring (in writing, content, and study skills), supplemental instruction sessions, and workshops. For more information about ALC services at this time, please go to: https://umanitoba.ca/student/academiclearning/notice.html
If you encounter a student on Ask Us that is looking for mental health resources from the University of Manitoba you should refer them to the Health and Wellness website.http://umanitoba.ca/student-supports/student-health-and-wellness. It also includes information on managing stress during COVID-19 http://umanitoba.ca/student-supports/counselling-resources-emotional-wellness-covid-19.
