OPEN ACCESS FEE DISCOUNTS
To publish in a gold open access journal title (i.e. the article is immediately publicly available with no embargo, full author rights retained), journals and/or publishers ask that authors pay an article processing charge (APC). University of Manitoba Libraries offer the following discounts, which result from various consortia and institutional memberships and purchasing agreements.

Institutional Validation refers to whether or not the Libraries has to manually approve an discount/waiver application.
Evaluate the publisher/journal before submitting: recognize predatory behaviour and other unsavory practices, such as journal citing inflation requests. Know your author rights and assert them!
