     OPEN ACCESS FEE DISCOUNTS

To publish in a gold open access journal title (i.e. the article is immediately publicly available with no embargo, full author rights retained), journals and/or publishers ask that authors pay an article processing charge (APC). For open access definitions and services: Open access | Libraries | University of Manitoba (umanitoba.ca)

This list comes from the contractual negotiations and understandings that the University of Manitoba Libraries has with these listed commercial publishers. These agreements arise from many types of arrangements including subscription contracts through consortia agreements and other contracts. This list is not intended to endorse or encourage University of Manitoba researchers to publish with any listed publisher but to provide a discounted option if researchers wish to choose the open access option with that publisher. Researchers are strongly recommended to always evaluate the publisher/journal before submitting: recognize predatory behaviour and other practices, such as journal citing inflation requests, and assert your author rights.
