Historical note: The Seventh Annual Manitoba History cConference was held May 5-6, 1994 at the Museum of Man and Nature. This marked the first time the conference was held off campus. The event commemorated the 75th Anniversary of the Winnipeg General Strike. It was co-sponsored by the Department of History, the Manitoba Historical Society, the University of Winnipeg, the Museum of Man and Nature, the Manitoba Labour Education Centre, and the Labour Studies Program at the University of Manitoba. Most of the papers dealt with the Strike but there was also a biographical session, as well as a session on Labour Unrest in Manitoba in the 1930s and 1940s. The first Zuken Memorial Lecture was presented by Dr. Stanley Aronowitz of City University in New York.
