Biographical sketch: Ines Papendieck received an M.A. from the University of Trier, Trier, Germany, in 1998. Her thesis was entitled Speaking in Tongues: Formen der Kommunikation in Carol Shields' The Stone Diaries. She presented a paper entitled "Gender and Labour in Carol Shield's The Stone Diaries" at the University of Manitoba in September 1998.
Custodial history: Ms. Papendieck's paper on Carol Shield's The Stone Diaries was received by Gaby Divay, University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections, in September 1998. The fonds was originally stored as MSS SC 133 before being designated as its own fonds MSS SC 133A.
