Title: Archie Polson fonds.

Biographical sketch: In 1916, Archibald (Archie) John Polson left Gimli, Manitoba to join the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I. He was later transferred overseas with the 2nd Divisional Machine Gun Corps and served in the trenches in various locations in England and France. In 1917, he received serious shrapnel wounds and after the amputation of his arm, spent several months in a military hospital in England. He died September 1, 1917.
Custodial history: The fonds was purchased by University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections from Borealis Books (Winnipeg) in 2000. The history prior to the purchase is unknown.
Scope and content: The content of the fonds consists primarily of correspondence, but also includes photographs, postcards, and a Royal Canadian Air Force service and paybook.
