Ashley is a Liaison Librarian currently serving Architecture and Classical Studies. Her role involves library instruction, reference and research support, and collection development.

After completing a BFA (University of Alberta, 2011) she spent several years leading and participating in community development, education, and research initiatives in vulnerable communities that intersect with art and design. Her focus has been establishing strategic and accessible opportunities for inclusive learning in diverse contexts that incorporate skill development and extension of diverse literacies. She completed an MLIS (University of Alberta) in 2021.

Her research interests include information literacy instruction in creative and studio-based disciplines, open pedagogy, and issues of information access and equity, specifically prison libraries. She further supports the LIS community through her role as an editor of a scholarly open access journal, as an executive officer of her MLIS alumni association, and through her roles with the Manitoba Library Association’s Prison Libraries Committee.
