Ashley is a Humanities Liaison Librarian currently serving the Faculty of Architecture (Environmental Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, and City Planning) and the School of Art. Her role involves library instruction, reference and research support, and collection development.

After completing a BFA in Art & Design (University of Alberta, 2011) she spent several years leading and participating in community development, education, and research initiatives in vulnerable communities that intersect with art and design. Her focus has been establishing strategic and accessible opportunities for inclusive learning in diverse contexts that incorporate skill development and extension of diverse literacies. She completed an MLIS (University of Alberta) in 2021.

Her research interests include information literacy and research processes in creative and studio-based disciplines, open pedagogy, and issues of information access and equity in prisons. She has supported the Art Libraries Society of North America as an Editorial Board Member, a Canadian Co Liaison of ArLiSNAP, and Prairie Region Representative of the ARLIS/NA Canada Executive Committee, and as Co-editor and co-founder of ARLIS/NA's Library Exhibitions Review. She has further supported the LIS community through roles as Director-at-Large of U of A's LISAA, Editor-in-chief of Pathfinder Journal, and as a member and Chair of the Manitoba Library Association’s Prison Libraries Committee.
