Custodial history: These items were donated to the University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections by Donald Carruthers’ sister, Gayle Carruthers, in 2002. The sports artifacts in this collection were awarded to Donald Carruthers in 1940 and 1941 for his athletic excellence. Carruthers was shot down serving his country in the Second World War in 1942.

Scope and content: The collection consists of eight sports letters and a track trophy awarded to Donald Carruthers during his time at the University of Manitoba.
