Many funding agencies have transitioned to a new narrative-style curriculum vitae (CV) for competitions. Canada's Tri-Agency (CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC) are prioritizing written descriptions of an applicant’s research contributions, allowing scholars to highlight a wide range of research outputs and to describe their career trajectories in more detail. This format values societal research outcomes, such as influence on policy or mentorship, alongside more traditional research outputs like publications.
This resource is intended to support UM faculty, staff, and students that require a statement of significant contributions as part of a larger narrative CV. Be sure to consult the Tri-Agency CV resources on CIHR's website which includes a webinar, template, FAQ and examples.
