Library Access Browser Extension

The Lean Library browser extension makes it simple to access academic articles, journals and databases licensed by the UofM Libraries, wherever you are and whenever you need it.

Install the browser extension once and enjoy a simpler, faster way to get access.

ChemDraw

Anyone with a U of M email address and student or staff can download a copy of ChemDraw for free. 

Here are the steps to follow in order to download/install the program:

  1. Go to http://informatics.perkinelmer.com/sitesubscription/

  2. Under Site Subscription, search for institution using the word “Manitoba," then select “University of Manitoba. You’ll see a heading that says: “Register to download the latest version of ChemDraw." Look under: “Mnova ChemDraw Edition (available with ChemOffice+ Cloud)" and click "Register"

  3.   If you already have an account, "Click Here to Login" and then login using your email and password. If you’ve registered and you do not remember the password, recover the password by clicking on forgot/recover the password option. If you have yet to register, click on "register" instead and proceed to step 4.

  4. You’ll see a heading saying “Welcome to User Registration.” Enter your information under New User, and then click “Submit.”

  5. Check your email account for “Welcome to End-User Portal” email. Click “Create Account."

  6. Click on “Sign Up.” Enter email and create a password.

  7. Under List Entitlements, select “ChemDraw Prime. Site Subscription, includes Bronze Support. (Site M)” – there will be several of these. Choose the one with the most recent start date and latest end date. Take note of the Activation code – copy it into a word processor file.

  8. Click “Download Now.”

  9. Click on “ChemDraw Prime”

  10. Click on either the PC or Mac Installers.

  11. Save file to your computer, and once it has downloaded, click on it to extract it

  12. It will prompt you for registration information and for an activation code which you copied earlier. Copy and paste the activation code, then click “Next.”

  13. Click through the different steps of the installation process, and then "Finish."

  14. You can then open ChemDraw Prime from wherever you installed it.
