What is an e-book?

An e-book is a book that is available electronically and can be read online, downloaded and transferred to an e-reader device or downloaded using a mobile device like an iPad.  The University of Manitoba Libraries has several different types of e-book packages available.  Each e-book provider has their own unique interface.  A comparison chart showing the features of some of the more common e-book platforms is available on the E-Book Comparison Chart tab (above).
