Title: Faculty of Arts fonds, Dean's Review Committee in Arts and Science Series.

Dates: 1966-1969.

Extent: 0.1 m of textual records.

Administrative history: The Dean's Review Committee in Arts and Science was composed of the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Arts & Science, associate deans, the Registrar, and faculty from St. Paul's College.  The committee was most likely formed during a period of administrative reconstruction in 1938.  The committee was responsible for reviewing student requests for permission to continue their studies in abnormal circumstances such as reinstatement or transferring credits from other institutions.  The committee was also responsible for reviewing and formalizing the requirements for the completion of term work, examination regulations, the addition or deletion of courses, and the program of study.

Custodial history: The series was originally designated a separate fonds.  It was added as a series to the Faculty of Arts fonds (UA 27) in March 2002 due to its provenance.  However, it can still be found using its original retrieval number, UA SC 17.

Scope and content: The series consists of minutes of the Dean's Review Committee in Arts and Science dating from September 1966 to February 1969.  The minutes include information on academic programs, course changes, and student appeals.
