Archival Collections: Prairie Literature Collections


The University of Manitoba acquired its first literary manuscript collection in the early-1960s when the papers of the famed Canadian prairie writer, Frederick Philip Grove, were offered by his widow, Catherine Wiens Grove. Since the 1960s, the Libraries have obtained the papers of many more authors, poets, novelists, critics, and journalists including Ralph Connor (a.k.a. Charles William Gordon), Dorothy LivesayEli MandelHenry KreiselMargaret Avison, and John Newlove.
