Rare Books: St. John's College Rare Books and Manuscripts

Descriptions of the University of Manitoba's Rare Books Collection as well as educational resources available to those studying related fields.

 

The St. John's College Rare Books and Manuscripts Collection is housed in the Archives' Rare Book Vault and contains, among many fine bibles, religious, and missionary texts, one of only five known copies of Tudeschi's ca. 1438 manuscriptLectura in Decretales.  As well, the St. John's College Rare Book Collection contains one of the earliest incunabula in the University of Manitoba Archives, namely, Koberger's 1478 edition of a Biblia Latina, depicted here.
