Citation Styles & Tools

Keep up to date with the citation styles used in your field of research, such as AMA, APA, Chicago, and MLA, with UM Libraries' Citing & References guide. Visit this guide to learn more about citation justice, appropriate methods for citing Indigenous Knowledge, and the benefits of using citation managers such as Zotero, Endnote, and Mendeley.

Searching With Citations

Did you know you can use the citation for a book or article to find other articles that have referenced it? Databases, such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science, provide a "cited by" link that allow you to track subsequent citations. Here is an example.
