  • The Donald W. Craik Engineering Library is very accessible to wheelchair users

  • Anticipate obstruction and narrowing of pathways from book stacks, booktrucks, and study carrels.


  • Meter Parking Stalls behind EITC Building off Dafoe Road. For further information on Accessible Parking contact Parking Services at 204-474-9483

Building and Library Entrance

  • All entrances to the EITC Building have good wheel chair access.From Dafoe Road, take wheelchair ramp to automatic sliding doors of EITC Building, turn left into hallway, elevators located on immediate left, Donald W. Craik Engineering Library is located on 3rd Floor , E3-351 EITC Building.  Exit elevator on 3rd floor, turn right, at end of hallway, turn left, turn right, access through turnstile gates into Donald W. Craik Engineering Library.. No elevator in the Library.  Elevator is located outside Library short distance down hallway.


  • Computers are located in Study / Reading area beside Reference Books Collection

  • Computer Lab (365 EITC) is available for Library patrons. 

  • Computer Lab’s door is not automatic.

  • First table/computer has wheelchair access. On occasion Computer Lab may be used for Library training sessions

Book stacks

  • Reference & New Books are located in the same Study/Reading area of Library.
  • Access in the stacks area available, however, book trucks are parked at end of stacks, patron would have to back up wheelchair to exit stacks or ask for assistance from staff member, staff member would move book truck(s).
  • Height of stacks are 10 inch, patron would have to ask staff for assistance to obtain material from top shelves of stacks.


  • Male Washroom located directly across hallway from Library, does not have an automatic door for entry into washroom.

  • Female/Male Washrooms with wheelchair access entrance, are located down hallway, which enters into the EITC 2 section of EITC Building, first hallway turn right, washrooms are located on immediate left.

Photocopiers and Print Stations 

  • Two photocopiers and one print station located in Study/Reading area of Library.
