UpToDate is an electronic Clinical Decision Support tool used in the delivery of healthcare. It includes more than 10,500 topics covering general internal medicine and more than 20 specialties; a select drug database and drug interaction tool; more than 1,500 patient education topics; more than 28,000 graphics; links to more than 400,000 references; and a number of medical calculators.
Note that as of 31 December 2023 UpToDate will no longer support Internet Explorer.
No. However, you will want to create an account if you want to:
Access UpToDate using your WRHA Virtual Library username and password. You will create a different login for UpToDate itself.
Next click "Register" from the UpToDate website.
Fill in the form then click “Submit Registration”. You’ll receive an email from UpToDate confirming your registration. You may now proceed with downloading the mobile app on up to two different devices.
In addition to the mobile app, you can access UpToDate from any computer with internet access outside of the WRHA. Simply go to www.uptodate.com and click the “Log In” button located in the top right corner of the UpToDate home page, and enter your UpToDate username and password.
Please note that you must re-verify your affiliation with WRHA at least once every 90 days in order to maintain uninterrupted remote access to UpToDate Anywhere. To re-verify, simply log in to UpToDate via the WRHA network.
