WRHA Virtual Library: Other Libraries

In addition to the databases available through the WRHA Virtual Library and via our Order Sources service, you may also be eligible for access through the following libraries.

Winnipeg Public Library

If you are a resident of Winnipeg you are also eligible for free access to the collections of the Winnipeg Public Library (WPL). These include:

  • A catalogue comprising both physical and electronic resources, such as books, videos, and music
  • Kanopy: a streaming video service. The WPL’s collections include a health category that provides access to videos relevant to medicine, mental health, midwifery and nursing.
  • McGraw Hill eBook Library: a collection of online textbooks, including USMLE study guides

If you are a resident of a municipality other than Winnipeg check with your local government about library access options.

University of Manitoba Libraries

Even if you are not a student or staff member at the University of Manitoba, you can still visit the library in person to access subscription resources on the public computers, or borrow physical items by showing your WRHA staff ID.

Voilà

Voilà is a national library catalogue from Library and Archives Canada. Some of its content is available for free online – use the Open Access checkbox on the left side of the results screen to find items you can read immediately.
