Formatting Tips

  • Author: Treat the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the drug as the author. You can also use the drug name as the author.
  • Date: Sometimes the updated/published dates are not available for drug information sources. If this is the case, substitute “(n.d.).”
  • Title: Provide the title of the drug information (usually the name of the drug) in italic sentence case, followed by the description “[Drug information]” in square brackets.
  • Source: Provide "Compounding Today" as the database source.
  • Include a retrieval date because the content is designed to change over time and versions of the page are not archived.
  • Provide a URL for the drug information. Do not add a period at the end.
